What will happen to our body if we suddenly die and who attends our last will? Many people want to donate their organs to others, but how could the bereaved know this?
In this documentary we follow doctor Johan Arnt Hegvik from the Intensive Care Unit at St. Olav’s Hospital who have to deal daily with such issues of the patients they are unable to save the life of. Some bereaved families tell about their thoughts on organ donation and what happened when their families were affected by the death of a family member. And we meet a woman who has received the gift of life from a donor unknown to her, when her own heart was ‘broken’.
